Conservation is bigger than what is in your own backyard, and that is why Kiesha’s Preserve uses solar and wind power to stay off the grid. We rely on 36 solar panels generating 300 watts each for a total power generation by solar of 10.8 Kw per hour. In addition, two Air 40 wind turbines generate 300 watts during periods of high winds. Power is stored in 16 industrial scale batteries of 897 amp-hr each. An 8 Kw propane generator is present but has not been used for the two years since upgrading to the larger solar array and battery system.
